Joe Lawson

Joe Lawson is the owner of Lawson Medical, LLC, headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with additional locations spanning the Mid-Atlantic region and employing several certified practitioners. After earning certification in orthotics, Joe founded the company as a single-owner operation. He first became a registered fitter in 1998 after several years in sales and marketing, first with a health insurance company and later with a DME company. He has served on BOC's Item Writers Committees for both COF and BOCO examinations.

Tony Lucy

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1954, Tony came to the east coast while in the Marine Corp and stayed. In 1975, he became a trans-femoral amputee due to a motorcycle accident. He was accepted into a prosthetics program at Duke University Medical School in 1982, where he was fortunate enough to meet and work with some of most influential and dynamic individuals in the field. He took a position as a prosthetic

technician in Raleigh, NC with Capitol Prosthetics and Orthotics in 1983. In 1985 Tony moved to Charlottesville, VA where for eight years, he functioned as a technician and clinical prosthetist at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics. In 1993 he moved back to Raleigh, NC to work as a prosthetist/orthotist with Professional Orthotics and Prosthetics. While there, he became very familiar with on-the-road clinic work with a lot of pre-fabricated orthotic and prosthetic devices. He also became proficient in discussing with doctors, nurses and therapists the type device that the patient needed and then providing that device or equipment. In 1995 he began working for Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in Lynchburg, VA. While there, Tony obtained both Orthotic and Prosthetic Certification thru the Board of Certification/Accreditation, International (BOC). In November of 2002 he began working with KAL Systems Inc., a DME supplier. He has worked with Lawson Medical as a certified Prosthetist/Orthotist since March of 2006. Tony enjoys working with patients and therapists and providing quality health care. He and his wife live in Madison Heights, VA where they own a home and two dogs.
